Up a Tree

Max spent some of yesterday stuck in a tree. It started when my friend, L, came for a visit and brought Nala along. You all remember Nala? She's my friend's dog that we babysat a short while ago. Nala loves to chase Max, and for that weekend it was quite the challenge to keep the two of them apart. Yesterday, when L showed up and let Nala out of the car, I forgot that Max was outside with us. Nala promptly chased Max and the result is the above photo. Max seemed too afraid to come down so L and I got Adrian's tall ladder and I climbed up to get him. Ds videoed it (he got me at a real flattering angle, too), but I can't seem to get it uploaded.

Then during the day there was a strange dog that kept coming into the yard. He was friendly enough but he doesn't belong in our yard!! Later in the evening the darn dog chased Max up another tree. This time Max came down by himself, though.

Poor Max. He won't even go outside this morning. Ah well - he'll get over it.

I gotta say though, it's pretty annoying when people let their dogs wander all over the neighbourhood. It's one thing when a dog just comes to greet you as you pass their driveway, but there is now two dogs that follow us and won't leave us alone. Sheesh.

Poor Max - just wasn't his day, or weekend!!

I think we can all understand his reluctance to go outdoors.

Wonderful post - thanks for sharing and a great photo too!!

Poor Max!
I hate it when strange dogs come by and scare my kitties. They usually hide under one of our cars but it scares me.

Poor kitty! Although I always think it's so funny when cats get stuck up in a tree. They can get up, but what the heck is it with them getting down?? Can't wait to see the video. And do I ever hear you about roaming dogs. We had one that kept coming into our yard and I'll probably get a ton of hate mail for this but I took my son's air gun and nailed him in the butt with it. Whatever. Come and crap in my yard so I have to clean it up, chase our squirrels and whatever else they do. No thanks. Get out and get out with a sore bum.

Joy - This morning, Adrian used his paintball gun at the dog because he/she was back AGAIN! He didn't hurt it but the dog sure high tailed it back home...and now I know where it lives.

Nika has a times ran through her electric collared fence and was hoping it wasn't her. There is no paintball marks on her so it must have been that other white dog that has been running around.

Shortly after we moved in, Rolf's dog chased Howard up a tree. He was on the very tiny branch. I waited to see if he was going to come down and he didn't. So I was just starting to get the ladder when he decided to come down. He started coming down head first. He quickly reversed and clawed his way back to the branch. Then he started again. This time he just came flying down head first and hit the ground with a thud. Funniest thing you ever saw!! he has since learnt to climb up and down trees.
