The other day I was listening to Oprah and Friends. I'm sorry, but I can't remember who was on or the name of the author they were interviewing. It was Angela...something, but that's not very helpful. :} This Angela person was talking about a writing exercise where you write about ten years of your life while only using sentences made up of three words. I decided to give it a try, and it was actually fun. Challenging at times, too. The idea is that you get to the heart of what happened. We can embellish our writing sometimes. This helps you to focus, I guess.
I'm not sure what the rule is regarding contractions and I think I ended a couple of sentences in prepositions, but ah well. I could not figure out how to reduce "We bought a house" down to three words! My creativity was challenged.
So, here's my list. Yes - another list! It turned out a little long, and it could have been much longer, but I didn't want to torture you. ;) One thing became apparent. The last ten years of my life have been consumed with marriage and kids. Which is good. I wonder what the next ten years will be like...

Great list and I believe I'm about 10 years older than you so I can say Happy hit the nail darn near on the head on what might be on the next list. Although I finally got a chance to watch Oprah tonight and wow! did those 'older' ladies give me some inspiration.
WOW. If you look at what you wrote a person could tell a lot about your past 10 years. I don't know if I could do the three word thing. Not sure I want to either.....not a lot of highs for me.
Did you say you were Married With Children? I loved that show. :-)
I'm sure I'll have to make a list...the three word thing might be tricky though...my past ten years have been with kids...my oldest will be 11...going back 15 years would say even more about me prior to kids.
I love happy's "butt dropped" "frickin gray hairs"...
Your list over the last ten years looks very interesting. My list about the last ten years is not really excited : I had bad days and of course good days.We moved to North of Germany (because my husband was over 20 years by the army).Originally we are from East Germany in the near from Dresden.
Anne, my older daughter, finished her school after ten years and now she makes a education on the foreign languages school for english and spanish and she traveled already a little bit around the world with her choir.
Nathalie started school and now she learns already at grade 5 and I have a part time job in a department of garden.Married I ´m since over 17 years...and my husband learnt a new education after his time by the army....
Bye,Steffi
Happy - Hmmmmm. I probably could have added those now! Yikes.
Joy - Those ladies WERE awesome!
Sirdar - As I'm seeing the 3 word thing isn't for everyone. I must have too much time on my hands o somethin'!
Heather - I thought it might be therapeutic to do the ten years from 10 - 20...then I came to my senses. Who wants to relive THOSE years! Sheesh.
Steffi - Sounds like your kids are doing wonderfully. Married 17 yrs! Excellent. Interesting that he was in the army.
Sometimes, we think our life isn't exciting or full of accomplishments, but when we look at it again we may think twice. Moving, having kids that are doing so well, and supporting your husband through a career change are very valuable.

I absolutely agree.
I started doing my own list today and I realized how much my family (not my family at home) has greatly been part of how I think of my last 10 years....some of it has been actually part of my 10 years and some of it has just been added stress and worry...anyways I'll probably post it whenever I finish it...
