Yesterday we had another day at the Science museum. The classes they took this time around were “Rocks and Minerals” and “Bubbles, Bubbles”. The first one was interesting and the second was just fun. In “Rocks and Minerals” they were introduced to the differences between igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks and they had to identify some rocks that were provided. Similarly with samples of minerals. This time they were learning the difference between translucent, transparent, and opaque. In “Bubbles, Bubbles” they started blowing bubbles with their hands and moved onto straws. I even had fun doing that one. I never thought to use a straw before! They had us blowing bubbles inside other bubbles, on top of other bubbles, and even making square bubbles (it IS possible).

I home schooled more ambitiously when I had fewer/smaller kids - I really need to get them out on field trips more!
They will go to a spelling bee on Monday, so that's something. . .
We don't do as many field trips as I'd like either.
It is great that they have lots of those field type trips and the (insert sponsors name here) Science Centre is a great place to take them. We went to a geology camp in September if you remember.
Hey...if you want to go on a fun trip for not only the kids but mom too...our home school group is going to a Porsche dealership on the 31st. I'm even thinking of taking some time off to go to that one!!
Oh! That sounds like something my son would love. Can I go, though, if I'm not a member?
I'm not sure. I'll ask and get back to you.
Looks like you probably won't be able to come. It is for PHE members first and then if there is room they have allowed extras. This being a Porsche dealership tour...I would imagine it would peak a few fathers interests too.
I'll let you know if there is a chance you can get in and then you can decide. It will prabably be close to last minute though. Sorry.
