Probaby not so healthy - but it tasted good!

On Friday evening our friends, Don & Ruth, came over for supper. We tried out this turkey deep fryer thingy…with a couple of chickens. It was a kind of practice run for Christmas. Supposedly, it isn’t unhealthy because it quickly seals on the outside, leaving the meat wonderfully juicy on the inside…..buuuuut I think that’s only if you don’t eat the skin!

The deep fryer thingy.

Mmmmm - good.
They are supposed to be carving the meat.
Instead they're swiping the yummy bits!

My husband wants to do a turkey this year for Christmas like this and I keep telling him to go for it. He's worried if the turkey doesn't turn out it will ruin Christmas...silly man. With 14,000 other dishes on the table I hardly doubt a turkey is going to make or break Christmas. Looks good though and I've heard 'health wise' it's no different then buttering and basting for 5 hours.

Was it good?

Yes, it was quite good. I would say that we could likely not cook for it as long next time.
