Outside School

We did school outside on the play centre today. This is always a big hit, and it's amazing how much work we get accomplished, too.

She loves her birthday hat.

Truth be told...he's posing here. I said to him: Look like your working hard. :)

This is more like it!

And this.

Taking the quick way for a bathroom break.

This little robin visited us in the tree, but by the time I got my camera out he/she flew down to the ground.

Had to stop work to watch the neighbour's horses run across the field.

And watch them eat.

Now that's how school SHOULD be, right?

I wish my schooling was as much fun. Looks like they are appreciating it.

Ours learn the hard way outside....like how to build the greenhouse and plant the garden and mow the grass and rake leaves and.....go for bike rides or walks in the forest to see what they can find or play with the bunnies...

Wow...I´m sure your kids had a lot of fun and a very nice day!Beautiful pictures again,Debbie!"Outside school" is really good and I think the kids learn much more outside as only when they sitting in a school indoor like here :O(! I wish my kids have much more outside lessons at their schools but unfortunately they sitting the most times indoor. That´s not good! Not without a reason is our Schoolsystem here so bad! It´s one of the baddest in europe and some peoples they already worldwide.Only on german private schools is it better but unfortunately to expensive for us...
Sorry,Debbie I can write a book about the bad situation of the schools here.

Bye,Steffi

Peter – Thank-you. Well, Adrian did put the slide on the play centre. :) They love that they can slide down in a hurry if we're doing lessons up there.

Sirdar - Oh yes, we have that kind of school “work”, too, of course.

Terri - I just love watching the horses. I'm grateful that our neighbours have them.

SC - Yup. ;)

Steffi - I'm sorry to hear that there are so many problems in you school system. It's interesting, too, because if I recall from statistics correctly the number of homeschooling families in Germany is very low. You'd think it'd be higher if there are so many problems in the public system. I think they're low in Europe in general. My sister-in-law in England (who is a teacher) wasn't full of encouragement and support when we first told her we were going to homeschool.

As a child I would have been soooo distracted if I was sitting outside learning. Oh who am I kidding, I'd be distracted as an adult as well. It shows your kids have discipline to sit and learn and that's a great thing. Doesn't hurt it looks like a ton of fun too!
