I got tagged by Peter. I've seen this one around and it looks interesting. The only sad thing is that I didn't recognize the people or events surrounding my birthday! I guess that's the point, though. To learn something new...
1. Go to Wikipedia and type in your Birthday Month and day only.

So Peter got you on this one!
You have the same birthdate as my mother by the way!
Charles Manson...I don't think I will tell her she shares his birthday
Oh and I know all about the whole whale exploding incident. Its a huge thing they talk about every time a whale washes up to shore, which is probably more common than you would think.
Thanks Debbie, for completing this tag - so quickly - wow!!
A lot appears to have happened on your birthdate - I think mine must have been meditating.
Have a nice day all.
OK..I'll bite.
August 23
List 3 Events that occurred that day:
1328 - Battle of Cassel: French troops stop an uprising of Flemish farmers.
(I thought this was interesting because the French Army are often categorized as quitters or losers when it comes to wars. But it is nice to know they can whip a group of farmers)
1833 - Slavery abolished in the British colonies.
(This is important in history as a human rights victory)
1989 - All of Australia's 1,645 domestic airline pilots resign after the airlines threaten to fire them and sue them over a dispute.
(That sure showed the airlines who's boss!! I wonder where they are working now?)
List 2 important Birth days:
1754 - King Louis XVI of France (d. 1792)
1978 - Kobe Bryant, American basketball player
List 1 Death:
1971 - The original Shamu, Sea World orca
List a Holiday or Observance:
Romania - Liberation Day (1944).
