Yesterday I had a wonderful afternoon with my mom, shopping, while my daughter went to a birthday party. Adrian and Ds went for a bike ride and puttered in the garage while we were away. Mom and I went for lunch at Boston Pizza and I had a very yummy Chicken Chipolte salad - she had a baked pasta dish. I bought the kids some clothes, but they need so much more. Why do they both have to grow out of all of their clothes at once - and at the same time!? They need new shoes, too. I need to find a good quality second hand store in my area. I really don't know how you guys with 4 and more kids manage. Clothes, clothes, and more clothes.
Today was a quiet one at home. We had a slow morning and then went outside in the afternoon. I started a little fire for the kids to warm up around and I did some raking. On an acreage there is always raking to do. I don't even try to kid myself into believing I'll do it all. What we really need is one of those gizmos that attach to the back of the lawn tractor. But since we DON'T have one of those the leaves will just stay there like they have for the last ten years, and just get mowed over when the time comes. I do like to rake around our fire pit because that's where we sit and spend time.
Later in the afternoon we ventured over to the neighbour's across the street. They have a small pond and we thought we'd look for some frog spawn to collect. I've never done this before, but Adrian has. I always hear about it in the homeschooling circles, though. Unfortunately, it seems like we're too early because we didn't see any. We did see what we think is mosquito larvae, though. Lovely. And rabbit poop. So the trek wasn't a waste. ;) When DO frogs lay their eggs anyway? Does anyone know?
Around 3:00 it started to rain so we retreated to the house, cuddled up, and watched a movie. Adrian watched Elizabethtown with me. I really like that movie. It's a bit of a chick flick, but not too bad.
I didn't even make supper! Woo hoo. Adrian had soup, and the kids had left overs. I just munched on this and that. I love nights where I don't have to cook.
That's me caught up. Now, I've gotta go and "kick" the kids to bed.

Sounds like a busy day!
I manage clothes with my kids only because they are so close in age and boy boy girl girl. Izzak frequently passes clothes to Joshua because he is easier on them then Joshua is and really Joshua is easy because he has been int he same size forever he is little. Kenzie and madison are small also and don't grow as much as some kids do so they wear their clothes alot longer then some and a lot of Kenzies clothes also get passed down to Madison.
A great weekend posting - all the more appealing - just being able to enjoy and to relax.
It´s sounds like a great but busy weekend!I like shopping for my kids but Andre hate shopping.
I buy almost all my kids clothes at Old Navy and only on sale! I hit the 50% sale on clearance before Christmas and got a ton of stuff. It was even better when it went to 75%
