I finally got the kids into some riding lessons and they had their first one Monday afternoon. It was Dd who was originally excited about horses, but I put Ds in too because as soon as I mentioned the lessons, he said, "Well, I wanna go toooooo". In the end, he loved it! I was surprised because anytime in the past that he's had the opportunity to get on a horse he declined. Now he's the one eager for another lesson. I hope they continue to like it because I think taking care of the horses (which they also learn to do) is great for teaching them a good work ethic. For ex. Dd complained of her arms getting tired and how she wanted to stop half way through the grooming process, but you can't quit on the horse. You have to take care of him. I'm not looking forward to the expense, but if they do enjoy it then I look forward to watching them ride.
I only took a couple of pictures, and they're not great, but here they are. :)

right on!! My kids love horses. They ride the ones out at the farm. Me? I don't care much for them. The scare me!! I've had some bad experiences with horses.
How cool! I always thought it would be neat to have a horse...but so much work! I'm lucky we have a friend with a horse!

How gentle the horses are too.
Wonderful pics.
My4Kids - I think, after the kids have had a few lessons, I might end up joining them. I love looking at horses, but I've always been a little nervous of them. I want to get over it, though, because they're so lovely.
I am very proud of your kids. Riding lessons is something I always wanted to do. Good for them!!
