First Letter

Ds decided that he wanted to write his friend a letter today. He usually complains when I ask him to write something so you can imagine my surprise and excitement that he initiated this task. He was quite thrilled with the whole process of mailing his first letter. It even took us out in the rain for a rainy day walk.

How wonderful that your son thought to write to his friend.

I still prefer the "oldie-fashioned" correspondence, to this new technology as it was always a delight to receive a letter through the post.

Amazing post box - you have and so high up too!! I will have to photograph one here in Scotland for you to see.

My kids like to receive regular snail mail so I encourage them when they are in the mood for it to write letters. They will probably do that more often when we move to Alaska.

Dawn used to write to a pen pal in Australia. They even visited each other. Dawn went there just before we got married... and her friend came here in 2003. All because of a letter.....

That's so sweet! My kids have a couple e-pen pals. But getting something in the mail is so much grander to a kid! My kids all get their own magazines they look forward to each month and now they are even getting their own junk mail!!!

Must admit the only post I get (apart from my nicu journals etc) are the bills!!

Fond memories of days gone by - when one used to receive letters from friends, family and relatives miles away too.

How I so dream for the past - at times!!

Hmmm sounds like there could be some snail mail pals happening on here. You should organize that Debbie :o) I much prefer receiving a letter in the mail and it's probably why I myself send so many letters out a month. I have a decorated box I keep all the letters in I've received from friends and will sometimes sit and go through some of the letters. Snail mail is the best by far.
