Stupid Start Button

One thing that I DON'T love about my new crock pot...you have to push start to get it to start cooking. Sounds simple. Push start. But that's after I've plugged it in and selected a cooking type (roast or stew) and a cooking time. The light is on and I see the cooking time displayed, but then I still have to press start! Are you getting that I forgot to push start today?

I put the ribs and lovely sauce in the slow cooker, and did all the steps I just mentioned, except pushing start. It wasn't until 3 pm that I noticed there wasn't any yummy smells coming from the kitchen. I went to inspect and saw that the darn thing hadn't started cooking! So...eh hem...we had supper at 8 o'clock tonight. Sigh.

I've done something like that before on my old crockpot with the dial button...I turned it on BUT I forgot to plug in my crockpot.
