The Rise and Fall of the Guy

Burning of the effigy is just as much a part of a Guy Fawkes celebration as the bonfire and fireworks. We've dropped the ball in previous years, but this year we decided to make our own "Guy" to throw to the fire.

Awaiting his fate.
The fire was being stubborn to light this year. The theory was that there was so much snow on the wood pile. hmmmm Or perhaps it was Guy trying to foil our attempts...
Burn baby, burn.
Do you see the moon in the top right corner of the picture...the funny thing is that the moon was behind me! A reflection? Or could it be old Guy coming for a visit?I took this picture within a minute of the previous one - no reflection. Hmmmmm

I still say it was the Ghost of Guy in that picture.

We all had a great time. The kids already say they can't wait until next year. Thanks for inviting us. It was great to meet some of our neighbours.

We loved having you guys. I was so happy to see you getting to know the other neighbours, but then our side of the circle is the best! :D

Please, thank your kids again for entertaining my kids.
