Mmmmooooooo

Adrian's Range Rover was broken yesterday. Actually, we broke it on the trip back from tree cutting on Sunday. We were pulling that heavy trailer full of trees and the ride just kept getting bumpier and bumpier. I thought that I'd get a black eye at one point! When we got home Adrian discovered that the suspension in his vehicle had gone. He needed new springs. Our friend, Malcolm, sells Rover parts and he happens to live on a farm.
Yesterday, after dropping the kids off at their home-school program I drove out to his place to pick up the parts. He showed me some calves that were recently separated from their moms. :( I wouldn't be able to be a farmer. Apparently, the moms and their calves really ball and bellow for each other. I was expressing my sadness of the situation to Malcolm, but conceded that it was necessary. Ironically, he is a vegatarian. He went into a spiel about how perhaps it's not necessary. He's been going without eating meat for fourteen years. Kinda interesting coming from a beaf farmer. He’s an eccentrically fascinating guy, though. I always learn something after talking with him.

Hey...if you want to come our for branding and inoculating...let us know. Taking the kids out to a farm is a very good and interesting experience. If you come out next year for the Canada Day Eve Party then the kids can see the cows, chickens and horses.

Yes, I'd like to make it this year. Thanks for the invite!

A couple of years ago we took the kids to "Rainbows End Day Farm". They really enjoyed that.
