Painting

Well, I did spend yesterday painting. It turned out to be more work that I thought. We have a large front entranceway with a spiral staircase. It was lovely being so large, but not very useful. Several (at least 4) years ago we moved the staircase to the side and put a wall up creating a small room at the back. The entranceway was still quite large after that. Then we moved our laundry room upstairs into that new room. The new wall had to, of course, be taped and plastered as well as the walls around where the staircase was moved. (are you confused yet?) That was done, but that was also how it stayed. My dad and Adrian worked hard at re-building the staircase making it sturdier.

When I started painting yesterday, I realized that there was still a lot of sanding to do, and even some repairs to be completed. I have to admit that I’m feeling a little impatient. I’m tired of the entrance to my home (the first thing people see as they come in) looking like a construction zone. So, I did some sanding, but since I’m doing this Venetian plaster thing I’m figuring that many imperfections will be covered up anyway. Lazy? Ah well…I just want to get the thing done already. It is looking nice, so far. I've got the priming and most of the base coat completed.
