Impromptu Halloween Party

I decided to do a little Halloween party today at our house. L is going to bring her day home kids over. My friend, S, is coming with her children, and I invited one of dd’s friends to come as well.

We’ll decorate a “body parts” pizza (S’s suggestion) and play a couple of games. That’s it – nothing big.

Yesterday, I got all of the Venetian plaster on the walls. I am soo glad that’s done. Now, I have to wait for 24 hours before I can burnish (sand the walls with fine sandpaper). After that I need to burnish the walls with the flat part of a trowel – that shines it up and gives it a marble like appearance. I’ll be glad when it’s all finished.

We also finished the jack-o-lanterns yesterday, and dd spent quite a bit of time decorating kitty paper chains for our Halloween decorations. We’ve got to tape them together and hang them before the kids come. This weekend I was supposed to head into town and get food for the party (we’re doing a potluck thing), but didn’t make it because I was painting. I’m trying to decide if I should go in this morning or make do with what I have. I need to take a rummage through my cupboards.
