Happy Friday the 13th!

Does that date give you the chills? It does to me – a little. My logical mind, however, reasons that it’s just a number on a calendar, people. That’s it. Go to sleep superstitious mind.

On the other hand, I’m sick today, but I’ve been feeling it come on the whole week. So, it doesn’t count. Ryan is sick, too, but it came on last night.

Arrrg. I do feel like crap, though. My throat is sore; my head and neck hurt. I’m tired, but I can’t sleep. Ds isn’t awake yet so, I don’t know how he’s doing. I’m considering taking a sick day. I certainly don’t feel like teaching today. Dd seems well - knock on wood (silly superstitious mind again).

The problem is that I had plans for this evening, and their getting all messed up. Tickets for Cirque du Soleil came my way for tonight, and I’m pretty excited about going. Adrian is on his trip so I asked my friend, L, to come along. I arranged for the kids to have a sleepover at Grandma’s, and they're thrilled. Then Adrian called last night to say that he was coming home a day early which is wonderful, but it does kind of throw a horseshoe into things. I would’ve loved to go tonight with him, but I won’t back out on my friend. Both my parents and the children are looking forward to the sleepover. So, I don’t want to cancel on them. Does that mean that Adrian comes home to an empty house? :0( On the other hand, ds is sick, and he might not be up to going anyway.

The gist of the story is that I have no idea what today is going to look like. Will we have a teaching day? Will I have enough energy to clean the house? Will the kids have a sleepover? Hmmmm – tune in next time. I know that you’re all in suspense. One thing is certain, though. I AM going to Cirque du Soleil tonight. I think L might have to drive, though.
