Canadian Thanksgiving

I was doing some searching on the internet about Thanksgiving. I thought that I’d better get the story of it straight before I teach it to the kids. Now nobody laugh, but I didn’t know that Canadian Thanksgiving had nothing to do with Pilgrims or the Mayflower. How Americanized am I?! So, the children made a thankful tree out of construction paper hands. They each wrote sentences on the hands stating what they were thankful for. It sure made the lesson more simple to teach. That's something else for which to be thankful!

Actually, I have many things to be thankful for this year. One of the main ones is that Adrian is home and not up in Fort Mcmurray in some apartment by himself. It gives us the opportunity to make our family stronger. He gets to be apart of our lives rather than just hearing about them during nightly telephone calls. From the bottom of my heart I'm thankful that he is here at home where he belongs.
