Don't Be Late!

Yesterday didn't quite go as planned. The children did do Language Arts, but both the dentist and the walk didn't happen. Her appointment was at noon, and unfortunately I was running late. So, I phoned the dentist office from the road to let them know that I was going to be 10 minutes late, and they told me that since it was only a 30 minute appointment I’d have to reschedule. Well, that sucked. I totally don’t blame them, of course. It’s my fault for being tardy, but I was already in the city. I’m going to have to get a clock in our school room. I have the time on the computer, but I don’t think to check it usually. So, now I’m in the city and the kids want to go McDonalds like I had promised them. Okay. But, oh no! I forgot my book! I don’t want to hang out in the play land without something to read. So, we go to Chapters. I bought the kids a couple of books, and went to get myself one. I had just read “Escaping the City” in the morning and recalled that a lady mentioned “The Time Travelers Wife”. I haven’t bought myself a book in ages because I’ve been going to the library, and I remembered why when I got to the till. Ah well - I picked it up and we headed off to McD’s. While the children played I engrossed myself in the book. So far it’s awesome. I would definitely recommend it to someone. We hung out there for about an hour because I didn’t want to put the book down, but then I realized I’d be more comfy reading on my couch. Off we went. I should mention that we were on the opposite side of the city from where we live. 45 minutes later we get home, and I suddenly remember that I was supposed to get some groceries. Arrrg. I was going to make do, but we were completely out of a couple of things that Adrian needed for lunch the next day. So, off we go again to the nearby town. Might as well take the overdue library books while we’re at it, too.

At the end of the day I did a lot of driving and spending that I wouldn’t have done if I had just-been-on-time for-the-dentist!!
